Any ardent follower of the Dana White contender series might find it difficult to forget Sedriques Dumas. While he was in the Dana White Contender series, Dumas made sure that he captured a lot of attention. He was a powerful contender in the show, which was held in August 2022. The 7-0 record holder was able to achieve a remarkable victory against Matej Penaz via submission in the very first round itself. This grand victory paved the way for ‘The Reaper’ to earn a UFC contract. However, the undefeated fighter has recently made headlines for a different reason.

A recent screenshot of the conversation between the fighter and a podcaster received a lot of attention from the netizens as Dumas was seen asking for $100 to give an interview. The podcaster was not ready to pay the amount as ‘The Reaper’ had not even stepped foot in the UFC octagon.

Dan, the host of Half The Battle HQ, took to his Twitter handle to condemn ‘The Reaper’. He wrote; saw this on my Facebook. Sedriques Dumas trying to charge $100 per interview. Hasn’t even made his UFC debut yet. You can’t script this stuff. The English UFC fighter, Paddy Pimblett was also scrutinized by the media and fans for asking for a paycheck to give interviews.

Let’s check out the takes of Twitter users on the matter.

Dan also said how he has interviewed many great fighters, like Alexander Volkanovski, but has never seen this kind of attitude.

After reading the exchanges between the podcaster and Dumas, one of the fans mocked him.

Two fans took the side of the Reaper.

One of the Twitter users thanked the very famous American journalist for not paying fighters for interviews.

A Twitter user commented on the poor language of the reporter.

Another fan commented:

Another fan was curious to know which fighters the media were ready to pay for interviews.

Dumas has already mentioned on several occasions that UFC was his biggest goal. In an interview with Full Send MMA, the 27-year-old said, “My main goal is to have more knockouts — rest in peace — than Anthony ‘Rumble’ Johnson, and more knockouts than Derrick Lewis”.
