Not just Dana White, but the entire world had been anticipating the fight between Jon Jones and Francis Ngannou for years. Although Jones has repeatedly teased his debut into the heavyweight category for longer than a decade, he will finally make his entry into the Octagon as one. Ngannou himself claimed that he wanted to fight ‘Bones’ quite a few times. However, his opponent would no longer be Ngannou. In the post-fight conference, after the events of UFC Vegas 67, the UFC president declared that the Cameroonian-French fighter was released from his contract. Furthermore, he talked about some of the lesser-known stuff about Ngannou’s match-up with Jones.

During the UFC Vegas 67 post-fight press conference, a reporter asked White about his feelings on Ngannou’s negotiations. He asked, “Did you get the feeling that he was negotiating in good faith or just really didn’t want to be here at all?”

White simply declared that he didn’t know. However, he also added that ‘The Predator’ probably didn’t believe that his fight against Jones would ever become a reality. He said, “I don’t know. No, I mean I, I doubt he’d just hang out for two years and continue to negotiate and you know. I don’t know. I don’t think he thought the Jon Jones would really happen. That’s what I think. I think that he didn’t think that that would really come to fruition, but it did.”
