UFC 300 is all set to be an exclamation mark in the UFC’s history. And so, the UFC and CEO Dana White have pulled out all the stops for the fans to provide them with a stacked card, all the way from the bottom to the top!
In a recent interview with Sportsnet, the UFC boss was asked if there were any attempts by the promotion to bring in legends of the sport like Ronda Rousey, Brock Lesnar, or Georges St.Pierre back to the cage. However, White stated, “Ronda is not coming back, GSP is not coming back, um, Brock Lesnar is like 45 years old or you know pushing 50, 46. Yeah, so none of those calls were made. ”
While fans may have been expecting news of the former star’s return, White’s comments indicate that the UFC is not looking to have any legends come out of retirement on the night. Rousey made her exit from competition in 2016 and she left the UFC to pursue her aspirations of being a professional wrestler.
St.Pierre, on the other hand, also retired from the sport in 2017 and the former UFC legend has recently indicated that he doesn’t plan to return to active competition any time soon. As for Lesnar, he had his last fight inside the Octagon in 2016 against Mark Hunt but has since stepped away from the world of MMA to focus on his wrestling career.
While fans may have hoped for a nostalgic reunion, White’s comments emphasize the UFC’s forward-looking approach to UFC 300. The event is poised to be a significant chapter in the UFC’s history, embracing new narratives and showcasing the best of the current MMA landscape
During the same interview, White also expressed his excitement for the promotion and their multiple marquee events for 2024!

White stated, “We got this Toronto now, we got Anaheim, we got UFC 300, Miami is ridiculous. We then got the Sphere, which will be the greatest live sporting event anyone has ever seen. Just wait until you see how this plays out.”
