Trash talks are the one way the fighters can sell their fight. As the weigh-ins and official face-offs began for the UFC 302, things started to get heated. Then, during the pre-fight press conference, Paulo Costa and Sean Strickland engaged in trash talks, trying to win the verbal battle. However, the UFC world was left with wide eyes as the Brazilian sent forth a piece of bizarre advice for Strickland. 

‘Borrachinha’ advised Strickland to get himself a wife. Strickland agreed, but it didn’t make him step back from wanting to deform Costa’s face and make him ugly. ‘Tarzan’ knew the importance of having a romantic partner well enough. Let’s find out what transpired between the fighters.

Paulo Costa’s advice for Sean Strickland

During the pre-fight press conference, the fighters for the main event and co-main event engaged in a verbal battle, trying their best to defeat their opponents even before the fight commenced. As the trash talks went on, ‘The Eraser’ came up with some advice. He pointed out that Strickland was wearing the same clothes for a week and speculated that the American needed a wife.

Costa claimed, “Bro, this guy is wearing this white shirt for the whole week. You, you need a wife, you know. I don’t know if you, you are married already or not, but maybe a girlfriend gonna, gonna help you a lot.” Surprisingly, ‘Tarzan’ agreed that getting married was indeed one of the greatest things a man could ever do. But he soon changed the atmosphere by bringing the focus back to the much-awaited UFC 302 clash from his personal life. 

Issuing a warning to Paulo Costa, the American mixed martial artist said, “Let me tell you, Costa. One of the greatest accomplishments a man could do is get married and have a family. Sadly, I’m not there yet, dude, but maybe one day, man. Maybe one day. But I’ll tell you what Costa, I can’t f***ing wait to f***ing make that face a little ugly, dude. I can’t f***ing wait.”

Sean Strickland is yet to get married, but the fighter is said to be in a healthy relationship with his girlfriend, who is known by her initials ‘KJ’. While the American likes to keep his personal life private and there is hardly any information about his girlfriend, he did make his relationship official by posting a picture on his official Instagram handle. KJ has played a soothing role in Strickland’s life and the same was acknowledged by the fighter some time back.

Strickland once revealed the perks of having a girlfriend

Earlier this year, ‘Tarzan’ was interviewed by Theo Von, on his podcast, ‘This Past Weekend’, where he revealed how his girlfriend helped him cope with trauma and anxiety. The mixed martial artist opined that some people have gone through troubling situations more than others, but every single person has had such experiences. However, he credited his girlfriend for playing a major role in making things better.

‘Tarzan’ said, “It is definitely better. I think having a girlfriend helps. It’s like whenever she is gone…I will just be in my house, I’ll start looking at all the things I own. (I’ll be like) I don’t need this sh*t. I don’t do well alone.” Furthermore, he revealed that she was the person who made Strickland a better man. Thus, when Paulo Costa advised him to get married, Strickland didn’t hesitate and expressed that marriage was indeed one of the greatest things in a man’s life.
