Now, the rumors have turned to facts, as Israel Adesanya confirmed that he would indeed fight at UFC 305.
‘The Last Stylebender’ has taken up arms and revealed that he would indeed fight Dricus du Plessis and settle the ‘real African’ debate. Without a doubt, the duo have exchanged heated words quite a few times on social media. And now, they can finally exchange blows in the Octagon.

Adesanya took to Instagram to share the news and confirmed his role at UFC 305. He shared a picture of himself wearing the new UFC golden gloves. The text in the picture read, “Never stole shine never lost mine.” But what excited the fans was set in the bottom right corner of the picture.
Without a doubt, the fighting community has anticipated the fight between Israel Adesanya and Dricus Du Plessis for a long time now. The bad blood between them sprouted back when Adesanya was still the UFC middleweight champion. Wishing for a fight against ‘The Last Stylebender’ and a chance to wear the championship belt, DDP commented that Adesanya was not a real African, since he didn’t live or train in the vast continent. With Adesanya’s recent IG post, the fight fans can take a sigh and anticipate just a while longer.
Du Plessis vs. Adesanya is indeed scheduled for UFC 305, which would be held on the 17th of August, 2024. Needless to say, the cancellation of the fight between ‘The Notorious’ and ‘Iron’ took a major toll on the UFC fans. All that remained was a confirmation, which has now been provided by Adesanya himself. Even though it was a huge mistake on the UFC’s part, the fans were, without a doubt, pretty excited with the revelation.
