Ian Garry has been at the center of attention for many fans. And a lot of it has been because of his relationship with his wife Layla Machado Garry. Garry faced a lot of hatred at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California at UFC 298. But the crowd, unfortunately, isn’t where all the things stopped.
Garry gets a lot of verbal thrashing online and also in person from crowds of people like the UFC 298 presser right before the fight. Does he respond to everyone who has something to say about him? No, that’s not even possible. But when he does, it makes up for an interesting interaction.

Ian Garry recently showed up for an interview with Dana White’s favorite MMA journalist, Ariel Helwani. Helwani and ‘The Future’ spoke about a lot of things in a short span of time. One of the hottest topics had to be Garry facing all the criticism.
And all of it often comes from spectators not really commenting on his performance in the game. Perhaps Garry would have a similar reaction to all kinds of criticism but this one time, he confronted a fan talking trash about his wife. And it may not have been a pleasant experience for the fan.
“That guy sh*t himself when I called him out by the way.” Garry narrated the incident. “He froze . . . he just froze. He froze and he didn’t move, he’s like ‘me’? . . . I’m like get the f*ck over here you. I was like, ‘say it to her face, have a s*ck and say it to her.’ No he sh*t himself.”

Clearly, the welterweight isn’t afraid of calling people out. He’s done it numerous times over the past weekend both at the presser and after winning his fight. At the presser, Garry was faced with yet again a booing crowd and all he did was smile and tell the crowd that he was the one they were there to see.
Garry’s emotions remain the same
Ian Garry still believes in remaining himself. During the same interview, Helwani asked Garry whether he saw himself as more of a heel figure or a babyface sort of fighter. Such personas are much more common in the UFC’s new partner, the WWE.

However, for ‘The Future’ it was neither. He wasn’t a “villain” nor was he a “hero”. He believed he was simply just being himself and would continue doing so. Even as the post-fight interview went on, he kept his composure and told Helwani that he saw the hate but believed that in the end, even the naysayers were there to watch him fight.
So it would appear that the fighter remains unfazed now by all the hatred. Before he pulled out of his UFC 296 bout though, he seemed a bit at odds with the sudden backlash from people but now, there appears a certain calm as if he’s settled down with the hatred.
