The UFC on ESPN 53 event could have been termed successful, with all the exciting finishes and amazing matchups. However, the card did share its own problems as a fight in the prelims ended in disqualification after one of the fighters bit his opponent. UFC CEO Dana White certainly didn’t seem too thrilled about the incident.

The second fight of the night featured UFC flyweights Andre Lima and Igor Severino, which ended in the second round after Severino bit Lima in the second round of their fight. The UFC, being the promotion that it is, didn’t take the incident lightly and cut the 20-year-old for his actions. This ended up dragging some featherweights into the mix.

After the announcement of the release of Igor Severino from the UFC, a fan tweeted out his disagreement with Dana White and the promotion’s decision to release the UFC flyweight. In the tweet, he called out UFC featherweight, Arnold Allen for deliberately poking the eye of Nik Lentz back in UFC Fight Night: 166. The Englishman seems to have taken offense to that comment as he exposed what actually transpired during the fight between the two.

Arnold Allen responded to the fight fan in the tweet, writing, “Shut up you mug, Nik was the dirtiest fighter I’ve fought in my career, I had double under hooks on the cage and he used his thumbs in my eyes to escape, multiple times pulling my shorts and holding gloves,”

Arnold Allen did admit to poking Lentz in the eyes but claimed that the eye poke was the reason he “Stepped off the gas” in the third round. He also went on to claim that the damage Lentz had after the round wasn’t because of the accident but because he threw many jabs on the side of his face, which was the cause of the damage. The incident this past weekend was a different case and Dana White was definitely not happy about it.

Dana White’s immediate reaction to Igor Severino’s bite

UFC CEO, Dana White is one person who tries to hold the promotion in a class ahead of the rest. So despite Igor Severino being a prospect with a promising future, his actions inside the octagon did not sit well with the UFC CEO. White sent a text message to Kevin Iole voicing his annoyance with the whole incident.

In the text, Dana White wrote, “Those were two up-and-coming undefeated fighters. If you get frustrated and want out of the fight, there are plenty of ways to do it, but the worst thing you can do is bite your opponent. Now, you get cut and lose the biggest opportunity of your life. Not to mention, he’s going to have real problems with the NSAC.”
