The beef between Israel Adesanya and Dricus Du Plessis has new seasons and episodes it seems! “Did those belts ever go to Africa?”, were the words of current middleweight champion, Dricus Du Plessis who decided to call out Israel Adesanya. ‘Stillknocks’ fired these statements at Adesanya during the media day of UFC 285. He insinuated this line to all the African UFC champions like Kamaru Usman and Francis Ngannou and said that they were not ‘real’ Africans because they resided outside their home. This didn’t sit well with Adesanya and now he is going to defend his title against the same opponent at UFC 305.
However, DDP decided to be a little humble after that but we might be wrong because the UFC 305 countdown video shows otherwise.

‘The Last Stylebender’ will take on Du Plessis again at UFC 305 and despite a long break he has managed to land a title shot. The feud between the duo started when ‘Stillknocks’ decided to announce that he was a “real African” compared to some of the other big names. He reiterated this after becoming the UFC middleweight champion which did not sit well with ‘Izzy.’
During the UFC 305 countdown video, both the fighters recalled this ongoing beef. ‘Stillnocks’ said, “I felt unstoppable. I felt like the king of the world.” Then it cut to the video from the Octagon where he was seen saying, “I’m African but I ain’t no brother of yours son,” to ‘Stylebender.’ He announced that he was pretty happy with what he had said.
Du Plessis also declared that Adesanya had exposed himself as a fool and declared, “He made himself look like a complete fool.” Then the scene again cut to Adesanya who said, “I ain’t no brother of yours son. Well, if you’re not, my brother then you’re not African.” After the back and forth in the video, the UFC 290 stage was shown where ‘Izzy’ said he did not need a DNA test to know where he was from.
Du Plessis stated that provoking his opponent was another win for him because he wanted to have a rematch. Adesanya also said something similar and narrated how he got what he needed. ‘The Last Stylebender’ has revealed how he got a title shot even after being on hiatus in an interview with TMZ Sports as well.

Israel Adesanya says he’s the shot-caller
Many veterans thought that Sean Strickland deserved a title shot against DDP. However, it was Israel Adesanya who got the chance. Speaking about the fight, he said that he held an upper hand in setting up the bout. “I just dropped a post on my Instagram the whole internet ah s**t oh the fight’s on. Then the UFC had to announce the fight after I dropped. So there’s one person who’s controlling the narrative here, and that’s me,” added Adesanya.
He not only controlled the fight but also decided to put out some words for his opponent. After losing to Sean Strickland he decided to take a hiatus but now he is back. In a video shared on his YouTube channel, he had taken the time to share the new goals that he has for himself. ‘Izzy’ was pretty excited to come back and he also said that he was not coming back for the belt but for the heads. he said, “I don’t need any more belts. I’m coming for heads, that’s what I wanna do. Just a few that I have to touch.”
