UFC 303 saw a huge setback after the Conor McGregor vs Michael Chandler fight got canceled. Though the main fight was in jeopardy, it found a replacement in Alex Pereira vs Jiri Prochazka. Meanwhile, there are more exciting fights on the same card for the fans to look forward to and one of them is between Ian Garry and Michael ‘Venom’ Page. The fight in the welterweight category is a power-packed match since Garry has been one of the best strikers in the division and, on the other side, Page is also known for his unorthodox and exclusive fighting style.

The 26-year-old had a personal wish to fight above his weight class, but everyone was booked. Therefore, he declared that he was a level higher than Page and just wanted to prove his power through this fight. Meanwhile, ‘Venom’ is all set to shock Garry at UFC 303 and ask for a fight against Kamaru Usman.

Sports reporter Chamatkar Sandhu recently took the interview of the fighter where MVP revealed that he would record a victory at the UFC 303 by handing Garry his first-ever career loss. The welterweight also declared, “I believe that there will be one more fight in between. If I want to bring it back to the UK, there will most likely be one more fight.” He confidently said that he would finish Ian Garry and ask for a fight with Kamaru Usman. Page wants a big fight for himself and wants to fight the number one ranked fighter without wasting any time.

He further reckoned, “Let’s jump up, let’s go. Also, like a Usman you know if he’s happy to go we go. Make that win get that win. And people there is no debate after that it’s like I deserve the belt.” Notably, Usman was quoted saying that he expected more from Page in UFC 299 after the fighter scored a decision victory over Kevin Holland. This might have influenced ‘Venom’ to prove himself.

However, the UK welterweight title fight with Leon Edwards completely depends on the latter’s performance against Belal Mohammad in their upcoming fight. The matchup is favorable, however, there is no certainty that Page is going to beat Garry. Recently, Ian Machado Garry declared his wishes for the upcoming fight with ‘Venom.’

Ian Garry wants a five-round fight

‘The Future’ recently posted a video on his Instagram account where he declared that he was going to ask UFC CBO Hunter Campbell to make his clash a five-round fight instead of a three-round fight. He is eager to push this to 5 rounds because he is representing the Irish and wants to give the MVP “25 minutes of pain.”

Page is known to be a unique and flamboyant striker and is loved for his explosive style of fighting. Garry has a similar striking style, but he does not move too much inside the octagon like his opponent. Page’s way of flashy movements can consume a lot of energy and make him exhausted.

Garry is undefeated and yet Leon Edwards and others picked Page to be the winner. This irked the former, and he declared that he was levels above his opponent. He was also apparently not interested in this fight and was targeting a top-five 170-pounder. However, since he had a wish to fight very soon and none of the other contenders were available, he decided to settle with ‘Venom’.

If this request for a 25-minute fight is accepted, then do you think Ian Garry is going to win? Drop your predictions in the comments below.
