Rafael Fiziev recently sat down for a discussion on the Ushatayka podcast. During the conversation, the host addressed these rumors and posed ‘Ataman’ with the pressing question. Swift to respond, Fiziev claimed the rumors were true. He declared, “It’s not a rumor. I’m hearing that it’s already for sure, as far as I know. I’ve heard that they’ve already identified something there.”
Fiziev also addressed the idea of competing in a new weight class, specifically at 165 pounds. While some fighters might consider moving up, he asserted, “I feel good at [155]. I ate pasta during the week of the fight. I ate in Fight Week, even before the weigh-in… [At 155] It’s become much easier to lose weight in my last four fights… That’s why [165]? No!” What’s more – recently, yet another Dana White masterplan was exposed by UFC Lightweight Dan Hooker.

He also pointed to why the plans for the big night might have been shuffled. Giving his take, he suggested that the fight fell apart due to worries on Dricus Du Plessis’ side. How? Well, he claimed that it was potentially related to his injury & conditioning after UFC 297. “I feel like [for] Dricus – that was going to be a big ask after the five rounds he had with Strickland… He took a lot of damage in that Strickland fight,” Hooker stated.
