Alex Pereira once again proved why he is the best in the division. The 36-year-old knocked out Jiri Prochazka in his second title defense fight in 2024. Pereira took on the fight on short notice as the Conor McGregor vs Michael Chandler bout was scrapped following an injury to the 35-year-old. However, the Brazilian showed no nerves and delivered yet another dominating performance. With this win, ‘Poatan defeated some big names in the light heavyweight champion division. However, he has yet to face Magomed Ankalaev in the division. But what does the UFC CEO Dana White feel about this fight?
There are very few fighters in the UFC who have dominated their division the way Pereira has done. However, it seems that he does have an opponent in mind already. During the UFC 303 post-fight press conference, a reporter asked Dana White about Magomed Ankalaev. The Russian is currently on a dream run and many believe he deserves a title shot next. Even Pereira also wants to face him, as revealed by the reporter. He said, “Alex said he wanted to fight him so he could prove that he has wrestling.”
The 54-year-old liked the idea of the fight which might happen in the future. Though he was quick to not make any comment about the dates, he seemed optimistic, “I like it well there you go yeah yeah.” White’s response comes after former champion Jamahal Hill, who had to withdraw from the UFC 303 co-main event because of injury, shared a tweet for the champion after his win while also issuing a warning.

Hill pointed out that he would knock out his next opponent, and then would be ready to fight Pereira for the glorious title. “I’ll sleep the next guy and then we go again!!! Great win but we are not done!!!” wrote Hill on his official X account. However, it seems that he might have to wait for a long time to take on the current LW champion.
Talking about Pereira, he knocked out Jiri Prochazka for the second time in his career. Previously, the pair met at UFC 295, but the fight ended similarly with ‘Denisa’ getting knocked out in the second round. However, this time the Brazilian changed his game plan and Prochazka’s team helped him.
