We can never talk enough about how much UFC fans and personalities are worried that the comeback of Conor McGregor may not happen on June 29. With just a few days left, rumors have sparked about the UFC potentially looking for a replacement, but guess what? Combat sports journalist Ariel Helwani has a solution for Dana White. He’s suggested that the 54-year-old follow the same method as Saudi Arabian official, Turki Alalshikh.

Conor McGregor and Dana White remained silent about the UFC 303 main event ever since the press event in Ireland fell through. If that didn’t put fans in a worrisome state, Conor McGregor would share an old video of him talking about an injury. This subsequently sparked a lot of rumors about the reason fans feel the fight against Michael Chandler has gone bust. But Ariel Helwani has a plan!

The simple solution to all of Dana White’s trouble relating to the Conor McGregor fight, according to Ariel Helwani, is to announce a new date for it. Moreover, there are no hints or pointers that indicate that Michael Chandler, who’s been waiting for this fight since 2022, is in a financial predicament, so he could opt to sit out until the new date arrives for him to finally take on ‘The Notorious’. He could, in the meantime, end his wait for some action against another opponent.

“Make a new date. I understand if Michael Chandler is in a position where he likes, ‘I just need money’. I don’t think he’s in that position… So I can understand either saying, ‘I’m going to wait if you’re going to tell me this is happening in October, August, or September, October, ok, maybe I’ll wait. If it’s just done, maybe I fight someone on short notice,'”said Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour.

Furthermore, the MMA reporter also painted a picture of how he’d have handled the situation if he had been the one putting out those fights. He’d prefer to keep fans in the loop about Conor McGregor’s next fight date while also setting up a replacement fight for the main event of UFC 303. “If I were in charge and this is done, you hopefully announce a UFC 303 fight, a new fight, and at the same time you announce the McGregor fight.”

Apparently, the suggestion from Ariel Helwani on keeping fans in the loop about Conor McGregor with a new date announcement comes from the Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, Turki Alalshikh. The Saudi Adviser applied a similar method when Tyson Fury, who was supposed to fight Oleksandr Usyk in February, ended up fighting the Ukrainian in May. As such, Helwani believes this could be a wise move for Dana White.

“I think you could actually take a page from what Turki Alalshikh did after the Tyson Fury cut… and then all the speculation and all the doubt and all the worry subsides a little bit,” Ariel Helwani added. Amidst the uncertainty of the fight, UFC fighter Gilbert Burns believes that Conor McGregor is attempting a Ryan Garcia stunt.

For better or worse, many fighters believe that Conor McGregor is playing mind games as rumors of his fight falling through swirl around. Gilbert Burns made his own assessment of the situation. He thinks McGregor is trying to play games just like Ryan Garcia did before his impressive win over Devin Haney. Just like ‘KingRy’ raised some doubts by acting all strange and weird in the buildup to his fight, there’s no reason to think why the Irishman couldn’t do the same.

“You saw Conor on the hospital taking a picture? You know what? I’m gonna tell you what he’s doing and you are gonna agree, I know you’re going to agree. I know for sure he’s pulling that card. [Do] You know what card he’s pulling? [The] Ryan Garcia card,” stated Gilbert Burns on the ‘Show Me the Money Podcast’. Do you agree with him?

Over the last few years, the chance to see Conor McGregor in action has become a rare visual. Will that remain the same as rumors of UFC 303 fallout swirl around? What do you think? Let us know your take on this situation in the comments.
