Since the UFC 303 event ended, the fight between Ian Garry and Micahel Page concluded with social media being flooded with negative comments criticizing it as unfair or boring. Dana White could not agree more, as he shared his thoughts on the fight during the post-fight interview at the press conference.

“Sean and Mick felt that the fight would play out exactly as it did, ” Dana White said. “We talked about it leading up to this fight. I had that fight as a draw, yeah. I mean, if they came out and said that fight was draw, that’s exactly what I thought that fight was too.” Meanwhile, White didn’t stop there; he dissected the fight round by round, claiming Ian Garry won the first round and Michael Page won the second round. According to him page, was leading the fight, and if he had held on for a few more minutes, the win would have gone to him.

Did Ian Garry develop a better strategy?

Judoka Ian Garry, mostly known for his punching and striking prowess, showcased a different strategy in this fight to counter Michael Page’ dynamic striking. Instead of relying on his feet, Garry opted to take the fight to the ground. In the first round, MVP managed to escape Garry’s attempts, but in the second round, Garry again utilized his grappling skills.

Approaching the third round, Page chose to engage directly with Ian Garry, presenting Garry with an opportunity to capitalize. Garry seized the moment, and all three judges scored the fight 29-28 in his favor, extending his undefeated streak.
