Conor McGregor hasn’t had a fight since mid-2021. Furthermore, the indecisive nature of the UFC in announcing his proper return date has added more doubts to the Irishman’s comeback. Meanwhile, Michael Chandler had a question for McGregor regarding his return since ‘The Notorious’ has been busy with other endeavors, except fighting.

The former UFC double champion seems to have gotten healthier after suffering a broken leg injury at UFC 264. He’s been busy with his business ventures, while also gearing up for the release of his first Hollywood flick, ‘Road House’, alongside Jake Gyllenhaal. That has seemingly set Michael Chandler off as he has demanded clear answers from McGregor.

Michael Chandler asks Conor McGregor why he can’t fight in April

UFC 300 has shaped up to be a great card with many notable fighters set to fight at the moment PPV event. As such, Michael Chandler has also expressed his desire to fight on that card, especially against Conor McGregor. In a recent tweet, ‘Iron’ mentioned that he understands the fact that the former double champion is coming off a terrible injury.

However, McGregor appears to be healthy and in good spirits now so Chandler can’t seem to comprehend why he isn’t considering a return at UFC 300. The 5th-ranked lightweight fighter wrote, “I get it. He’s coming off an injury, so that said, now that [Conor McGregor] is healthy…the question is, why wouldn’t it be [UFC 300]?”

He further went on to point out that Conor McGregor will almost record three years of inactivity, similar to Jon Jones, soon. Instead of having fun driving his million-dollar yacht, ‘Iron’ suggests that ‘The Notorious’ make an imminent return to the Octagon. “It’s been 2.5 years… Get off the yacht kid,” Chandler added. His question to McGregor comes in the wake of his accepting to fight the Irishman’s UFC 300 challenge. Let’s see what that was all about.

Chandler seemingly agreed with McGregor’s challenge

Conor McGregor had earlier mentioned about returning at UFC 300 before announcing that he’d be fighting Michael Chandler in June. However, ‘The Notorious’ hinted at yet another idea of returning in April in a post on Twitter (X). McGregor wrote, “McGregor on 300 seals the deal.” It did not take Chandler too much time as he issued a response to that tweet in just a few hours.

‘Iron’ seems to be on board with the idea of a fight between him and Conor McGregor on April 13th. Dana White is yet to announce the main event of the fight and Chandler could find himself in that position with the former double champion. “I accept. See you soon [Conor McGregor] [UFC 300],” said ‘Iron’ as a response to ‘The Notorious’.

There will always be talks about Conor McGregor’s return since it is fun for the fans to talk about. Nevertheless, we have to wait for an official announcement before we assume anything about the former double champion. Dana White has already refused to confirm what McGregor had to say about his June 29 return, so it remains to be seen what the UFC has in store for its biggest star.
