Is Bobby Green's name change a stroke of genius or a career blunder?

When you are the king, you can do anything, and seems like UFC lightweight, Bobby Green took this a little bit too seriously. UFC’s 15th-ranked fighter has officially changed his name to his moniker, “King”. This came as a surprise for everyone in the MMA community as no one was expecting such an act from him. However, there’s another surprise that even Green was not expecting.

Bobby Ryan Green was his official name before he changed it to ‘King’. So it started? Well, Green has been using the term ‘King’ as his official moniker for years now and fairly recently had joked that it’s time for him to actually embrace his moniker. He further joked that he was seriously considering changing his name permanently. The MMA community thought it was a joke until he uploaded a video flaunting his name, ‘King,’ in his legal documents. However, there’s a catch to it as well- just when Green was showing his document he compromised his privacy.

Did you know Dana White’s personal and sensitive information was once compromised? But seemingly the leaks were all but wrong information. The contact information in reality belonged to Julie Breeler, who had to bear the brunt of unending calls. She disclosed, “It makes me paranoid when I hear things outside. I can’t sleep.” And yet upon hearing the woman’s plight, when White appeared at her doorstep unannounced, a hilarious event ensued, as a paranoid Breeler explained, “I get my gun before answering the door. I crack the door and say ‘Yes?’ He says ‘Julie Breeler?’ and I’m like ‘Yes.’ He says ‘Hi, I’m Dana White!'” To know more about what led to all this, keep reading!

Well, while ‘King’ unknowingly flaunted his ‘Social Security Number’ in a serious mishap, that’s a serious security concern on Green’s part, as an exposed Social Security number can be used for identity theft. However, Green has yet to delete the video, and the MMA community is totally shocked by it.

Fans are up in the arms as Bobby Green compromised his privacy on Instagram

Bobby Green was just showcasing his new name, however, fans caught something that was not meant to be public. A social media user was shocked when he witnessed it: Ain’t no way you just showed your social.” Leaking of such sensitive information has been an issue that several celebrities have long dealt with and the UFC entities are not oblivious to this.

Have an interesting take?

Back in 2012, a group of hackers went for the UFC’s head as they took over ufc.com and redirected it to a protest website against the proposed SOPA and PIPA bills. It is notable that the then-president and now CEO Dana White openly supported the passing of the bill. Undaunted, White issued a warning at the UFC on FOX 2 pre-fight press conference, “I’m not afraid of you. So you want to keep hacking our site? Go for it. Watch what happens. You’re hurting yourself.”

The Hacker group then retaliated by disclosing White’s personal information such as contact information, social security number, and even credit checks and background checks. They even hacked into ufc.com a second time, leaving the fans worried about their own financial information they used to sign up on the website. Since, then, the UFC has amped up their legal and privacy practices, and no further threats have ailed the promotion.

Hence, when Green revealed not just his social security number, but also compromised his address, another concerned fan wrote, “Address and social bruh ur wildin.” A common concern among the fans, another pointed out that a compromised ‘SSN’ might act as a doomsday bomb for your privacy, especially if it lands at the hands of cybercriminals who might use it for identity theft: Bobby you gotta take this down man they gonna take your sh!t‼️” Following suit, another urged Green to take immediate action and take down the post: Yeah just show us and tell us but you got to delete this Bobby!”

On a lighter note, another fan was more concerned about his name: So now its “Bobby king king ?” While another fan assured others, that birth certificates do not contain the SSN or the address: y’all really don’t know how birth certificates work? there’s no ssn or address on them, he’s fine”

All in all, Bobby Green seems to be unaware of what he has done or was it intentional? Regardless, what’s your take on the fiasco? State your thoughts in the comments below.
