Sean Strickland is one of the most outspoken figures in the UFC. He doesn’t shy away from stating his opinion and way of thinking, no matter what it is. Whether it’s his controversial takes or difficult conversations like his abusive past. ‘Tarzan’ holds nothing back. And so, his opinion of Andrew Tate, too, was unforgiving.
Strickland has previously called Tate “a f***ing piece of sh*t.” And his hatred against him has been quite evident over the past few years. However, in a recent conversation, Strickland said something that struck too close to home for Tate himself. Now, Sean O’Malley has a perfect analysis of the situation.

From Sean to Sean, who’s building an image?

The UFC does a lot of things. Selling a fight and creating an image is one of those. Fighters have to put up an attractive and interesting image in order to pull in the audience. Just like the WWE, except less dramatic once the real fight actually starts. Whether or not Strickland is creating a brand is controversial, but O’Malley believes it’s exactly what he’s doing.

Recently, Andrew Tate took a dig at Strickland for talking about the way he feels society numbs people and he mentioned, “The Matrix,” an urban concept of a world where we have little to no choice. Here’s O’Malley explaining the whole incident that went down after Strickland’s interview clip went viral on X.

“Andrew Tate CALLS OUT Sean Strickland saying this,” O’Malley read from his phone. “‘We live in the Matrix where like society actively tries to numb you,’ Andrew responds with ‘so he hates me, Sean Strickland, so he hates me on a podcast but then copies everything I teach I’m not mad glad there’s more people who understand. We must free minds.”
This was Tate’s tweet on the video of Strickland hitting out at him. What does the bantamweight champ think about it? “He’s building a brand,” said ‘Suga’, “he’s playing into what the fans like of him and he’s doing that more, so yeah he’s definitely f*cking smart.” Certainly, Strickland has brains for the entertainment and it shows. But it’s not all that there is.

There is also trauma involved for Sean Strickland

O’Malley’s podcast partner and coach Tim Welch also brought up the fact that sometimes, Strickland says a lot of extreme things because of his past. Everyone who follows the fighter now knows that he’s had a rather troubled childhood. It was here, perhaps, that a lot of trauma set in for the fighter who recently broke down on Theo Von’s podcast over it.

Clearly, a lot of what Strickland does and believes transpired in the aftermath of his troubles. However, he has been able to move past it to become the middleweight champion of the world defeating Israel Adesanya in grand fashion. Something no one knew he’d be able to do including himself.

Strickland believed he only got the fight because no one else was available at the moment. It took him a while to accept himself as the rightful champion. True, now he has lost the belt, but perhaps it has given him the push he needs to perhaps become the champion again soon.
