The newly crowned middleweight champion called out former 2-time champion Israel Adesanya, demanding that the Kiwi fighter return to the UFC for a fight. Meanwhile, ‘The Last Stylebender’ put du Plessis in his place with a message on social media.

People were constantly asking Dricus du Plessis about fighting Israel Adesanya in the near future since he couldn’t do that at UFC 293. However, The South African sensation went all out and called for a fight against Isreal Adesanya. But ‘Izzy’ replied by taking a dig at him.

Israel Adesanya sends a humbling message to Dricus du Plessis

During the post-fight interview, Dricus du Plessis accused Israel Adesanya of taking his shine off of him. He stated that after beating Sean Strickland, he’s taken the shine from ‘The Last Stylebender’ since the former two-time champion lost to ‘Tarzan’. However, Adesanya wasn’t going to stay shut, sending a message on Instagram.

Given that Dricus du Plessis only won the fight by a narrow margin against Sean Strickland, Israel Adesanya reminded the newly crowned champion that he never took anything away from anyone, and neither did he lose what he had. He said, “Never stole shine. Never lost mine!!” Nevertheless, Adesanya knew that his rivalry with du Plessis was not over, which he mentioned in a tweet.

‘Izzy’ believes he’s “destined” to cross paths with du Plessis

Having sent a message to Dricus du Plessis on Instagram, the former two-time middleweight champion also had something to say on Twitter (X). There, he stated that he always believed that he and ‘Stillknocks’ would bump into each other even after the UFC 293 fight had to be scrapped. Israel Adesanya said, “This arc in my story was written long ago. Our paths are destined to cross again.”
