After an absence of 3 years from the Octagon, UFC star Jon Jones will mark his return as he will face Ciryl Gane for the vacant heavyweight title on March 4. ‘Bones’ will endeavor to not only capture the UFC gold but also reclaim his previous title of the pound-for-pound king at the T-Mobile Arena facility, in Las Vegas. Also, the Rochester native makes his much-awaited heavyweight debut, which also proved to be a daunting task. However, his long absence from the promotion could partly be linked to his long-standing contractual negotiation with the UFC president Dana White. The standstill over the negotiation finally had a breakthrough and, as a result, the former UFC champion will bank the highest purse of his career at UFC 285.

Notably, Jones was paid $500k for exchanging gloves with Daniel Cormier at UFC 214 in July 2017. And that would be the sheer minimum the Gaidojutsu black belt holder will amass.
Reportedly, the 26-1-1 record holder will pocket $2 million for showing up against ‘Bon Gamin’.
Notably, the highest-paid athlete in UFC history, ‘Notorious’, banked $3 million for his last 4 outings to the Octagon. In addition, Jones’ purse can beef up to $3 million with a win bonus and PPV money bonus. However, his opponent will receive $500,000 and, with add-ons and bonuses, the purse can swell up to $750,000.
