At the post-fight press conference, Anthony Hernandez was asked several questions, one of which was who he thought could keep up with his pace inside the octagon.
Giving a small smile, the 31-year-old shared, “No. I mean, it would be a great fight realistically, but who I see that mixes very well is Du Plessis. He mixes it very f–king well, and that’s why he is champion right now. That’s what I mean — he is a tough motherf—er, and he goes. He looks like he is gassed, but he keeps pushing. Um, I would love to fight him. I will just keep climbing the ladder to get to him, and just, good job to him. Keep up the great work.”

But then the reporter asked him about Adesanya. “There isn’t really a fighter… I mean, Israel Adesanya needs an opponent. Is that someone you would like to throw your name in the hat for?”
Anthony͏ ͏Hern͏͏andez: “I don’t care, I will fight him.”
Well, he might be willing to fight Du P͏l͏e͏͏s͏sis and ‘Izzy’ but he will first have to climb to the top of the division. #13 ranked Hern͏͏andez fought #14 ranked Michel Pereira. But DDP is the champion of the middleweight division, whereas Adesanya is ranked #2.

The MMA community is eager to know when ‘The Last Stylebender’ will return to the Octagon, and it appears that this news may not be what they hope for.
While having a conversation with the media earlier this month, Adesanya stated that he would take his time to return to the octagon. “Even though I don’t have the belt, they still got my name in their mouth. At the moment, I want to fight one more time before the end of this year or early next year, but I don’t know yet. I’m just training, building off [from] where we left off, and I’ll get the call at some point with a few options. I’m sure Dana [White] would hit me up at some point.”
Israel Adesanta dominated the middleweight division until Alex Pereira marked his presence inside the octagon and eventually, names like Sean Strickland and Dr͏icus Du P͏l͏e͏͏s͏sis emerged as champions. Now, ‘Izzy’ may not be the champion, but he intends to reignite the fire within and get back to the very top.
