Edwards vs. Brady height and reach comparison

Leon Edwards and Sean Brady’s clash is the classic striker vs. grappler matchup, which is as old as the sport itself. Since these matchups usually come down to who can impose their game plan on the opponent, every advantage, no matter how small, counts. And that is why it is worth taking a look at their physical attributes.

The 6’2″ ‘Rocky’ has a significant height advantage over the American, who is four inches shorter and stands at 5’10”. But surprisingly, this size disparity is not carried over into their reach. It seems Brady has long arms for his size or the English former champ has short arms for his size.

After all, Brady has a wingspan of 72.5″, while Edwards’ isn’t far off at 74″. The former champ will probably try to keep Brady at bay and keep out of the American’s takedown range by trying to pick him apart from the outside.

Who weighs more, Leon Edwards or Sean Brady?

Since both men fight in the 170-pound welterweight division, Brady came in at 170 pounds, while Edwards tipped the scale at 171 pounds (fighters can weigh in one pound over the limit in non-title bouts) at the UFC London weigh-ins. But what about their walk-around weight?

Well, we don’t know for sure. But we do have some information off which we can make an educated guess. Seven hours after ‘Rocky’ made 170lbs for his UFC 296 clash against Colby Covington, Edwards’ nutritionist, Jordan Sullivan, revealed that the Englishman was 185 pounds. If he weighs that much that close to the weigh-ins, it is likely a rehydrated Edwards goes into the Octagon over 190 pounds. But this is Edwards in camp and dropping pounds before the fight. When not in camp, ‘Rocky’ is likely to weigh over 200 pounds!

Brady may be shorter than Edwards, but he is pretty thick and stocky whereas the Englishman is lean and cut (most aesthetic physique and all). According to a post by ‘KnockoutAlerts’ on Instagram, sourcing information from the JRE podcast, Brady walks around at around 197-200 pounds in training camp. This means he walks around at 210 or more when not preparing for a fight.
