

UFC legend and submission grappler Jake Shields has well-documented beef with controversial fighter, training partner, and friend of Conor McGregor, Dillon Danis. He recently shared a story on Twitter claiming that ‘El Jefe’ ran away after seeing him in a club in New York City.
Dillon Danis is no stranger to riling people up and getting into heated confrontations with them. Jake Shields is one such fighter who has had a history of bad blood with the former Bellator fighter. He once spilled coffee on Dillon Danis a few years ago. Now, he has another story to share about the infamous ‘El Jefe’.

Jake Shields claims that Conor McGregor’s friend Dillon Danis ran away from him
Shields reiterated a story when ‘El Jefe’ bumped into him at a nightclub in New York City and immediately took off from the scene. “My favorite Dillion Danis story is when I saw him at a club in NYC and when he saw me he literally sprinted out of the back door,” said the UFC legend. After so much tension between the two, Danis decided to avoid facing Shields and instead opted to take the easy way out.

Jake Shields mentioned that he had no plans to get into a physical altercation with the 29-year-old fighter. But he would have attacked him if Danis tried to spill any kind of verbiage. He added, “The funny part is I had no intention of beating him up unless he got mouthy with me.”

Conor McGregor arrived at the UFC 202 press conference late. This angered his opponent Nate Diaz, who happened to be a long-time training partner of Jake Shields. He decided to storm out of the event. However, as Diaz was exiting the door, the Stockton native threw a bottle of water at McGregor’s entourage, including Dillon Danis.

Jake Shields decided to douse McGregor’s training partner with coffee. He mentioned in an interview a few years ago that Danis was close to him, so he threw the coffee cup lightly and Shields got his target. The UFC legend believes that ‘El Jefe’ still has a bad taste in his mouth from that incident.

Dillon Danis hasn’t fought in over four years. He last fought at Bellator 222, defeating Max Humphrey. Danis was supposed to fight the YouTube sensation KSI in August last year. But he pulled out just days before the fight. Now, according to a social media announcement from Polaris Professional, ‘El Jefe’ is set to make his return to grappling in 2023. We will have to wait and see what transpires.
