There have been a lot of speculations surrounding the inactivity of Khamzat Chimaev. He has always maintained his stance on wanting to fight anyone who wants to get inside the Octagon with him. But we hardly hear anything about him from the UFC. MMA legend Chael Sonnen believes that Chimaev doesn’t need to be a mysterious character like some of the other UFC fighters.

Dana White recently addressed the questions regarding Khamzat Chimaev’s inactivity and mentioned that it wasn’t the UFC’s fault. Instead, he blamed it on the Swedish fighter.

‘The American Gangster’ believes that ‘Borz’ is a very interesting person. And that is one reason why he doesn’t need to stay under the shadows. Sonnen said, “Chimaev is so interesting, but he’s not a guy that needs to remain mysterious.” He then mentioned a couple of fighters, including Brock Lesnar and Francis Ngannou, who had a mysterious aura around them. But Sonnen feels that doesn’t suit Khamzat Chimaev.

Sonnen said, “Francis was mysterious, just like Brock Lesnar. Just like him and built like a Greek God.” He added, “He had all these things that Lesnar had and I would have kept him mysterious.”

The rumors regarding Khamzat Chimaev being a mystery started a couple of years ago. But Sonnen claims that those rumors turned out to be wrong. “Chimaev is very, very interesting,” said ‘The American Gangster’. He claims that the Swedish fighter should be allowed to speak his mind. Sonnen added, “If Chimaev couldn’t get here, we need to know.”

‘Borz’ responded to Dana White’s comments about his inactivity

Khamzat Chimaev called out Dana White on Twitter after the statements he made about his UFC inactivity. He claimed to have no problems with whom the UFC decides to set him up for a bout, but they never gave him any nod regarding his next fight. However, there are a lot of fighters who have issued an interest in fighting the Swedish fighter, and we’ll have to wait and see if any of those fighters become Chimaev’s next opponent.
