Conor McGregor’s career outside the Octagon has often been as controversial as his time inside it. The former double champ, known for his brash confidence and concussive striking skills, has faced numerous legal issues and public controversies over the years. While his supporters defend him as a passionate and misunderstood athlete, critics argue that his actions tarnish his legacy.
As the Irishman continues to prepare for a potential UFC comeback, many question whether he will still be a part of the promotion. The Dubliner currently has two fights left in the contract but will the UFC let him go after all the controversy? Former 185lbs kingpin and analyst Michael Bisping doesn’t quite think so.

Conor McGregor’s meteoric rise in the UFC is the stuff of legend. The Irishman burst onto the scene with a swagger and confidence rarely seen in the fight game. Armed with a sharp tongue and an even sharper left hand, he quickly captured the imagination of fight fans worldwide. McGregor wasn’t just another fighter; he was a showman, a master of promotion, and a man who could back up his words with devastating knockouts. From the moment he declared, “We’re not here to take part; we’re here to take over,” McGregor delivered on his promise.
From dismantling Jose Aldo’s 10-year unbeaten run with a 13-second knockout to claim the featherweight gold or bulldozing through Eddie Alvarez for the 155lbs strap, McGregor’s place is truly cemented in UFC history. Yet, his journey hasn’t been without challenges. The most recent ones are his civil lawsuit verdict and a barrage of injuries that have kept him away from the Octagon for nearly four years. This has led many to think that McGregor will never be able to replicate his magic inside the cage or even return at all. Moreover, the prospect of being released by the UFC also looms.
However, Michael Bisping feels this is far from the truth. During his YouTube show, he answered one of the questions raised by fans on whether ‘Mystic Mac’ will be let go by the UFC. The former 185lbs champ had no hesitation in saying, “I do not think so. Conor’s Conor he will always be a tremendous draw. I am not sure about the state of his contract I think it’s two fights left on the contract. I can’t know they wouldn’t even think about cutting him. Conor McGregor is a very valuable entity all right. He hasn’t strung the wins recently but is still the biggest star in the sport.”

Recently, Logan Paul shared a vlog on his YouTube channel that captured a tense moment with Conor McGregor. In the video, filmed during their bus ride to Donald Trump’s swearing-in ceremony, McGregor was seated directly behind Logan. The former UFC double champion didn’t hold back, threatening to slap Logan, Jake Paul, and KSI.
The clip highlighted the heated exchange, showcasing McGregor’s fiery personality as he clashed with the Paul brothers and their rival. McGregor said, “I’m going to slap the head off the two of you and KSI. You are nixers to me. Do you understand that? You’re side jobs.” Logan was also quick to respond and said, “You can’t even do your main job. How can you do your side job?”.

The heated exchange appeared to steer the Irishman away from pursuing the fight in India. Renowned MMA journalist Jake Noecker managed to get the truth from the Irish superstar. During their conversation, Noecker pressed McGregor on whether he planned to face Logan Paul. Or if fans could expect to see him back in action with BKFC or the UFC. McGregor replied, “BKFC, Saturday night, baby, live from Wells Fargo Center” promoting BKFC Knucklemania V that took place on 25th January.
However, he then made it clear that his next fight would be in the Octagon, and not against Paul. He further added, “For me in a competitive standpoint, UFC.” Who do you think Conor McGregor will fight next in his career? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
