The world of mixed martial arts has finally been awarded with Conor McGregor versus Michael Chandler fight, after waiting for more than a year. Without a doubt, the news pushed a shockwave of excitement through the fighting community. However, the excitement came along with a hefty gate amount of $20 million. It’s not that surprising, given the stardom of the Irishman. But the story is different for Chandler.
Previously, the Irish fighter predicted that he would break the $20 million gate record for UFC 303. He took to X and quoted, “Excited to break the 20million dollar gate mark for the first time in ufc history! Another first for the Mac daddy. SEE YOU IN VEGAS.” Within days of the prediction, it was revealed that the gates crossed the set benchmark.
The UFC CEO, Dana White, recently announced that the UFC 303 gate crossed way beyond the $20 million mark. Following the news, the 38-year-old mixed martial artist took to X and dropped down the numbers. “$20,000,000+”, wrote the fighter. But little did he know that the fans would not accept it from him.

Being one of the most famous fighters in the organization sure comes with perks. For the ‘Mystic Mac,’ this fame came along with a boatload of cash through the gates. He previously held a maximum record of around $17.7 million. Without a doubt, the highest-grossing gate record for Chandler before that of UFC 303 was less than McGregor’s $17.7 million.
But when ‘Iron’ shared that the gates crossed the record-breaking sum of $20 million, fans began with their conquest of reminding Chandler that it was all because of ‘The Notorious’. Furthermore, the fans also claimed that Chandler wouldn’t be pocketing much of that. Here is what they had to say.
UFC fans reveal the reality of the $20 million gates for Michael Chandler versus Conor McGregor fight
Without a doubt, the MMA fans took over the comments section as soon as Chandler hit the share button on the social media platform. One of the fans claimed that the fight promotion was cheap. Furthermore, the user hyped up McGregor’s pay, saying that the $20 million would be the price ‘Iron’ would have to pay the Irishman for signing a losing script.
That’s how much you would have to pay @TheNotoriousMMA to sign a losing script. And the @ufc is too cheap.

The fans further claimed that Chandler had nothing to do with raising the amount of the gates. It was all done by McGregor’s star power. One of the fans seemed to believe that Chandler would fight the ‘Mystic Mac’ for free.
CHANDLER,You are not even getting a dollar for it,you get your purse + PPV,there is no % on the gate. You should have negociate better.

A few other fans joined in the charade and dropped down texts that read, “And you added exactly $0”, and “Not because of you.” However, one of the fans asked the fighter if he knew about it.
It's not cause of you though you know that right? 😅

Moreover, some fans wondered how much ‘Mystic Mike’ would receive, asking, “How much of that do you get?”, and “How much is your take?” But one fan speculated that it would be around only $250,000.
