Ahead of UFC 300, CEO Dana White had proclaimed, “You can’t miss one fight on this card”, and he delivered on his promise on April 13. The landmark UFC event featured 12 current and former UFC champions/interim champions and 16 ranked fighters on the entire card. And with spectacular moments like Max Holloway’s BMF title victory and Alex Pereira’s defense of the light heavyweight title, the card lived up to the hype and more.

However, it was recently reported that some fights may have been in jeopardy due to a multitude of injuries and other issues being faced by the fighters in the weeks leading up to the event. Dana White at the UFC 300 post-fight press conference even revealed that ‘Poatan’ went into his fight against  Jamahal Hill with a foot injury as he bluntly confessed to the UFC boss, “Yeah, I ain’t losing this opportunity…”!

At UFC 300, Aleksandar Rakic made his return to the cage against Jiri Prochazka after a long layoff due to a knee injury he sustained in 2022. In his last fight against Jan Blachowicz, Rakic tore his ACL in the third round of the fight leading to a TKO stoppage due to the injury.

It was later reported that Rakic had damaged his knee 3 weeks before the fight in a sparring session. And according to a recent update on X by Championship Rounds, going into the UFC 300 clash against Prochazka, Rakic was once again compromised, this time due to a staph infection in his elbow.

He was quoted in the post as stating, “[It was] Wednesday/Thursday when the elbow got infected… I was really in pain on Wednesday. I was really afraid that the doctor from the UFC would cancel my fight. I was given very strong antibiotics… I really don’t want to say that the infection was an excuse, but it obviously affected me a bit and that I can’t 100% exploit my full potential.”

And he wasn’t the only one who went into his fight compromised, as according to Dana White, Alex Pereira had suffered from a broken toe ahead of his clash for the light heavyweight title against Jamhal Hill. The UFC boss stated in the post-fight press conference, “He broke his toe two weeks ago and he fought tonight with a broken toe. I thought he broke his toe in the fight, and his team’s like, no he broke his toe two weeks ago. And he’s like, “Yeah, I ain’t losing this opportunity for a f**king pinky toe”, that’s what he said.”

These revelations shed light on the challenges fighters often face behind the scenes. Despite injuries and setbacks, their determination to compete at the highest level is a testament to their resilience and dedication to their craft.

And Jim Miller’s recent update about the aftermath of UFC 300 underscores the inhuman toughness of MMA fighters as he revealed the staggering amount of damage he sustained in his fight!

Jim Miller reveals the brutal aftermath of his fight against Bobby Green

Jim Miller’s UFC 300 clash against Bobby Miller has taken a massive toll on the UFC veteran. Miller lost the bout to Green via unanimous decision and he sustained some serious damage on the night. While Miller secured the honors of being the first and only fighter to take part in UFC 100, UFC 200, and UFC 300, he was unable to set another record by getting a win in all 3 landmark UFC events.
