Stephen Thompson
Stephen Thompson has just come out of an incredible victory against Kevin Holland at the UFC Fight Night on December 4. The triumph that night, though, came with some serious injury for him. Thompson broke second and third metacarpals of his left hand during his fight with Holland. However, according to Thompson, no surgery was required.
received word from the doctor that have broken my 2nd & 3rd metacarpals in my left hand.
Thankfully no surgery is required. Not sure when in the fight it happened but I guess @trailblaze2top head is almost as hard as mine 😂 #ThickSkulls #SkullConditioning #UFCOrlando #UFC282 pic.twitter.com/kgHlYN6gq1— Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson (@WonderboyMMA) December 9, 2022
The bitter-sweet aftermath of the triumph will undoubtedly necessitate some quality slumber for the ‘Wonderboy’.
Kevin Holland
Similar to Stephen Thompson, the same fight caused some hand injuries to Kevin Holland, too. According to Holland‘s manager, the UFC fighter has broken his third, fourth and fifth metacarpal bones in his right hand when fighting against the ‘Wonderboy’ and lost the bout in the process. The 30-year-old was required to undergo a surgery and everything seems fine with the ‘Trailblazer’ now.

Not an injury, but a severe staph infection affected Dustin Poirier‘s foot. ‘The Diamond’ recently defeated Michael Chandler, earning him the title of “Fight of the Night” in the process. However, Poirier began seeing swellings on his foot shortly following the bout. Since he was not responding to the oral antibiotics, he was taken to the hospital for a surgery.

Jiří Procházka
Jiří Procházka has the “worst shoulder injury ever seen,” claims Dana White. ‘The Czech Samurai’ was scheduled for a title fight at UFC 282 but the fight has thus far been called off.
During his training for UFC 282, Jiří Procházka injured his shoulder badly, and it got worse as some of his teammates tried to fix it by themselves. Which, as a result, popped his shoulder out.
