When Hollywood star Will Smith slapped Chris Rock, spectators were shocked. People could not believe the incident and many criticized Smith. However, it looks like something similar has taken place once again. As per several reports, a person attacked American comedian Dave Chappelle while on stage.
The incident happened when he was performing at the Hollywood Bowl. While Chappelle did not sustain any injuries, as per ‘BBC‘, authorities had taken the attacker to a local hospital for treatment.

So in the wake of the incident, a UFC fighter had something to say. UFC’s featherweight fighter Terrence McKinney wrote on Twitter, “Somebody tell Dave Chapelle to hit me up, I’ll be security for him and I bet nobody will touch him”.

As revealed by BBC, the Los Angeles Police Department’s spokeswoman commented on how the attacker jumped on the stage and ‘tackled’ the comedian. In addition to this, they revealed that he had a replica handgun pointed at Chappelle. Owing to this, authorities arrested the suspect for assault.
From the videos available, one can see that security tried deescalating the situation. But many people have been questioning whether there was sufficient security at the show.

The comedian immediately lightened the situation by commenting on it. Further, Chris Rock too appeared on the stage to crack the “Was that Will Smith?” joke.

Further, UFC commentator and comedian Joe Rogan was worried about the type of message the Will Smith-Chris Rock incident would send. Unfortunately, with Chappelle’s recent incident, it looks like his fear might have come true.

Speaking about the Smith-Rock incident, Rogan had said, “You can’t just go and smack a man in the face in front of the world and go about business as usual. First of all, It sets up a terrible precedent, in so many different ways. It is a terrible precedent for comedy clubs like people are going to decide they are gonna go on the stage and smack the comedians now.”

Chappelle has also previously appeared on ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’. Hence, it would be interesting to see what Rogan has to say about the incident.
