Kevin Holland stepped in on short notice to fight Marvin Vettori in the main event of UFC Fight Night: Vettori vs Holland. ‘The Italian Dream’ was originally scheduled to face Darren Till. But a broken collarbone injury forced ‘The Gorilla’ to withdraw from the bout. ‘Trailblazer’ took up the opportunity as he looks to bounce back from his disappointing outing against Derek Brunson recently.
As for Vettori, he looks charged up and ready to go. Stylistically, the fight makes for a great spectacle. Moreover, there can be a few surprises in store for the fans, as Vettori has a stiff striking arsenal combined with respectable grappling.

Holland has a unique style and is very unpredictable in his striking game. He has good jiu-jitsu skills as well. But his takedown defense is an area where he would like to improve as seen in his last fight. Vettori might look to test Holland’s grappling and force the contest to the mat.

Holland got his 5-fight winning streak snapped by Brunson in March. He has a record of 21-6 with 17 finishes in total. 12 T/KO and 5 submission wins accumulate those numbers. He has been submitted twice in his career but has never been stopped by strikes.
His last setback against Brunson might bring the best out of Holland. Both fighters should have their moments in the fight. Vettori should dominate the early proceedings as he usually comes out fires up. However, Holland’s diverse striking might cause some problems as the fight progresses. Vettori is very tough, and he never been finished as a professional is a testament to that.

Holland will want to avoid the same mistakes he made last time against Brunson. ‘Trailblazer’ should be more active and eventually grind out a decision in his favor in a back-and-forth contest.
Final Prediction: Kevin ‘Trailblazer’ Holland by decision.
