Kevin Holland, of late, has gained the status of being a fan-favorite fighter. From his fighting style to his personality, the ‘Trailblazer’ ticks all the boxes to be a fan-friendly athlete. Moreover, his social media and the constant delivery of memes act as a cherry on the cake.

A lot of fans speculated that he took this decision because of the dominant loss that he suffered at the hands of Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 279. On the other hand, many believe that the insane amount of money he made fighting ‘Borz’ as a last-minute replacement had essentially settled him for life.

How much was Kevin Holland paid?

While the numbers are not absolute, a post surfaced on the internet that revealed the amount that Holland made fighting Chimaev.

The post said, “Kevin Holland got paid at UFC 279!! According to sources close to the situation, Holland made $800,000 in guaranteed show money to fight Khamzat Chimaev on a little more than 24 hours’ notice 💰”.

However, Holland was quick to reply back to this post and stated that the number was inaccurate. Moreover, to intrigue his fans further, he added that the amount could be more or less than what was being postulated.

‘Trailblazer ‘wrote, “We said we got paid but we damn sure didn’t tell anybody the number! @ko_reps taught me better than that! That number isn’t accurate. Could be less 💀. Could be more 🤑. But either way……”

Fans reacting to the insane Payday

Fans quickly jumped into the comment section to share their thoughts on the massive amount that Holland allegedly made.

A fan wasn’t buying Holland’s dissent over the speculated amount. He wrote, “Everybody too worried about another man’s cheese”.

While another fan said, “but Dana said everyone had a deal”.

Another fan shared their opinion.

Another user, while referring to Holland’s recent fight announcement, said, “Smart man, got paid enough to retire. Now getting paid again to come out of retirement”

Nevertheless, Holland didn’t stay retired for too long and recently the UFC booked him for a fight against Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson on Dec 4th.
