Conor McGregor is one of the most exciting knockout artists in the UFC. As such, the Irishman is also a big fan of exhilarating knockouts. Therefore, he did not entertain any reductive labels on his favorite knockout of the year as he took to Twitter to share his thoughts.
The former double champion responded to a tweet discussing Leon Edwards‘ knockout of Kamaru Usman as a nominee for the ‘Comeback of the Year’ award. McGregor called to halt the discussions and gave his reasons why this finish was the undisputed best of the year.

“The Notorious” recent Twitter shenanigans did not curry any favor with the fans. However, many of them resonated with their first UFC champion’s take on the subject.
Conor McGregor on Leon Edwards’ KO of Kamaru Usman
According to McGregor, this finish was “EVERYTHING of the year! Bar none.” In an eloquent tweet, he mentioned how every aspect of the fight aligned perfectly to make a moment that would live on for a long time.
Stop the nonsense “comeback” of the year , this is EVERYTHING of the year! Bar none. The timing of commentary. The timing of the fight. The shot itself. The KO. The ramifications. The post speech. Pound for pound head shot. Dead! This lives on!

McGregor also gave a nod to Edwards‘ post-fight speech that went viral following his victory. The Jamaican-born Englishman’s real-life ‘Rocky’ moment combined with that post-fight speech made for a moment that fans celebrated widely.
The 34-year-old also tagged Paradigm Sports, the agency that manages both him and the new Welterweight champion.
Fans react to McGregor’s take on Edwards’ title win
‘Mystic Mac’s reaction to the clip was well-received by the fans. His recent online scuffle with compatriots, Paul McGrath and PJ Gallagher, raised more than a few eyebrows. However, McGregor found common ground with his followers through his take on the welterweight title fight.
Several fans responded to the tweet, letting McGregor know they were in agreement with his statement. Some of them pointed out how takes like these were light-years away from what he says during his Twitter spats.
