Raul Rosas Jr. beats Jay Perrin at UFC 282. He thus became the youngest fighter (18) ever to win at the UFC. In his latest episode of his podcast, Joe Rogan talked with his guest Stavros Halkias about why young fighters are able to demolish older, more experienced fighters. Stavros Halkias is a stand-up comedian, and was the guest for #1909 of ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’.

The conversation went around multiple topics, and naturally, a lot about MMA was discussed. It was, however, Joe Rogan‘s explanation about why young fighters were excelling in combat sports that grabbed some ears.

Talking about when is a good time for experienced fighters to move away from the sports; Rogan was very clear that it was indecision that gets old fighters in trouble. He marked out that the fighters who don’t want to give a lot anymore should step away from the sport or some new kid may come and smash them up.

Rogan explains why kid fighters have an edge over older ones:

Explaining the main reasons behind the success of young fighters, Rogan said, “In combat sports, when a guy doesn’t want to do anything, they should just stop because there is this one foot in one foot out thing happens,”

Rogan further stated, “and then some young jr guy comes up or a young gal comes up and he or she f***s you up and that’s just how it goes.”

Talking about the advantages that young fighters carry,

Rogan further added, ” these kids that are coming up they are fu**ing unburdened by life. They have only known life for 22 years. They have f***ing unbelievable bodies, recover quickly, and if they train well.

Talking further about the role of television and YouTube in the development of the young fighters we see these days, Joe Rogan said that the current generation has grown up watching martial arts. He also added that the generation has tried techniques and skills with their friends.
