One of the most anticipated matchups scheduled in the UFC is definitely the title fight between Israel Adesanya and Dricus Du Plessis. With the heat emanating from their rivalry, all eyes are focused on the middleweight fighters. Now, to make the event even more entertaining, the MMA promotion has released pictures of the new shorts that Du Plessis and Adesanya would wear to the Octagon. 

The shorts for ‘The Last Stylebender’ show golden lightning striking on a black background. On the other hand, the shorts for Du Plessis are stitched together in the colors of South Africa. With blue and white designs on a green background, the middleweight champion’s shorts look pretty good. 

The fire between Adesanya and Du Plessis has been burning with a lot of energy lately. The fighters have engaged in verbal battle ever since the South African mixed martial artist struck the ‘real African’ debate, pushing Adesanya to respond with a challenge for a fight. And now, Dana White and Company have brought the rivalry to even greater temperatures with the new customized shorts.

As soon as the new shorts were revealed on social media platforms, the fight fans took over the comments section and expressed their views. Needless to say, the whole wide world was left stunned by the awe-striking designs. Let’s see what the fans had to say.

The only emotion that dominated the comments section was the amazement at the new shorts. The fighting community indeed commended the UFC head honcho for outdoing himself with the designs. But the credit also goes to Venum, the clothing partner for the Ultimate Fighting Championship. And the fight fans knew that well enough. One of the fans wrote, ‘Venum needs a raise because that Izzy design is so tuff.” Another comment read, “Yeah both of these are sick. Someone outdid themselves with these designs.”

The world of mixed martial arts kept gaping at Adesanya’s shorts. One of the fans commented, “Izzy’s look incredible wow.” Meanwhile, another fight fan added, “Izzy’s shorts are gonna look cool irl.” 

However, the challenger wearing the colors of a champion was something that didn’t quite sit well with some of the fans. A netizen commented, “The challenger in black and gold.” Another fan commended the designs for Du Plessis’ shorts but didn’t deem it worthy for Adesanya to have the champion’s colors. The comment read, “ddp’s are cool, kinda weird to give the challenger a black and gold design but they look fine.” Another comment read, “The only thing I don’t like is them making Izzy’s look too close to normal champ shorts but other than that both look great”

Some of the fans pointed out the former 2-time middleweight champion’s interest in Japanese anime. One fan wrote, “DDP representing Africa while Izzy representing anime.”

But the excitement about the customized shorts was pretty high, as well. The fighting community seemed to think that it was indeed one of the best moves by White. One fan wrote, “Like the one good thing coming out of the UFC recently are these custom shorts lol.” However, some of the fans were still doubtful about the UFC bringing back customized shorts. A comment read, “Are they slowly bring back customized shorts?”
