Joe Rogan is in awe of a UFC welterweight contender, whom he crowned the best wrestler in UFC’s deep 170 lbs division. The podcast host has immaculate knowledge of MMA, as he’s a jiu-jitsu black belt himself and follows the sport regularly. However, the over 2-decade veteran commentator only has a handful of fighters as his favorites, and this young star might have earned himself a spot on that list with his exceptional wrestling skills and sublime confidence. The UFC analyst showered high praise on the exciting MMA fighter, despite him causing some trouble for the UFC in his previous fight.

Joe Rogan praises Khamzat Chimaev’s exceptional wrestling talent

In episode #1920 of The Joe Rogan Experience, the popular host expressed his love for undefeated UFC welterweight fighter Khamzat Chimaev for his raw and rugged wrestling approach, aside from his confidence to hurl fighters around and have fun while doing it.

The UFC commentator recalled the trouble he caused with his weight issues ahead of UFC 279. But, his spectacular performance against Kevin Holland more than made up for his mistake.

Rogan said “I love that dude (Chimaev)” and honored him as “literally the best wrestler in the division.

The Spotify podcast host added, “Khamzat ragdolls people and talks sh*t while he’s doing it.” and recalled his fights against Li Jingliang and Kevin Holland, where Chimaev displayed his exceptional grappling skills. Rogan based his statement of ‘Borz’ being the best wrestler in the welterweight on these performances. However, the 55-year-old UFC analyst also pointed out who can stop this ferocious fighter.

Rogan named three fighters that could trouble ‘Borz’

Joe Rogan himself believes 3 welterweight fighters can stop his favorite welterweight wrestler, Khamzat Chimaev. That said, the rich UFC welterweight roster has plenty of talented fighters who could claim they can beat the rising Swede fighter. But these three stand out among the rest for at least the UFC commentator; they are Belal Muhammad, Leon Edwards, and Kamaru Usman. Nevertheless, the Swedish fighter’s excellent grappling skills could come to use against these opponents. And there are more tricks in the undefeated fighter’s arsenal that could help him.

Chimaev’s confidence is his biggest asset. In addition, he has a size advantage over most 170 lb UFC fighters. But this is where the MMA world hopes that the young star can maintain a proper weight for his future fights. And utilize his time on the training grounds to really become an unstoppable fighter in the welterweight division. The Chechan-born star appears one fight away from earning a title shot. And it could come after a trilogy gets settled between former champion Kamaru Usman and the current champion, Leon Edwards.

Joe Rogan also hopes Chimaev can reach great heights in his career as a UFC fighter. As he confessed, “I f*cking love him to death”.
