Sometimes, the post-fight interviews and callouts become more entertaining than the fight itself. Undeniably, Conor McGregor has a way with words that no other fighter has mastered yet. Many mixed martial arts fans have admitted to being hooked on interviews, weigh-ins, and face-offs when the Irish star is involved. The fighter not only provides an entertaining fight but also entertains with the microphone. Without a doubt, this is a fact that Joe Rogan has noticed well.
Recently, in the JRE episode #1920, the beloved UFC commentator lifted the athletes up high for getting better with the mic and interviews. However, he also mentioned the reason for the change.

Joe Rogan believes Conor McGregor changed the UFC
Rogan recently invited the founder of Barstool Sports, Dave Portnoy, to the podcast. They indeed talked about a lot of things. However, they could not steer off from fighters getting better with the mic. The commentator showed how entertaining Michael Chandler was while he called out to ‘The Notorious’. However, he admitted that it was the Irishman who brought about this change.

After watching Chandler speak elegantly on the mic, Portnoy said, “The UFC guys are great on the mic. And the mic for that one thing that’s never changed from the fight game. The mic matters.” Unquestionably, Rogan was quick to respond. He said, “They’re learning. They’re learning, you know. And they’re learning, I think because of Conor. Conor changed everything.”
Furthermore, the 55-year-old podcaster revealed how important it was to be able to sell the fight and to make people get invested. “Chael opened up people’s eyes to the benefit in the value of promotion and to be witty and entertaining and get people- get people invested in you fighting. They wanted to see you get your a** kicked, they wanted to see you win, they wanted to see there was some sh*t talking going on. And then Conor McGregor took that to a completely new level,” said Rogan.

But recently, he cooled down the air. He said, “That’s an extraordinary human being, that’s a rare, one in x amount of million kind of people that can do what he does and talk the kind of sh*t he does and then get into an Octagon and f**k people up.“
