UFC clarifies “typo” error in a Facebook post

The UFC shared a sponsored post on Sunday on Facebook in a bid to promote their upcoming UFC 291 pay-per-view. Moreover, they pointed out that there were “two title fights” on the card – one for the BMF title and the other for the light heavyweight championship. It got the fans excited, and rumors started circulating about the title fight. However, it was not what the UFC intended to do.

‘MMA Junkie’s Mike Bohn shared a tweet explaining that “two title fights” written on the Facebook post was a typing error. Alex Pereira and Jan Blachowicz will fight each other for sure. However, it will remain a 3-round fight without the belt on the line. He tweeted, “UFC official tells me this is a typo, and Blachowicz vs. Pereira currently remains a three-round, non-title fight [UFC 291].” With the news of the unprecedented injury, fans are wondering how long Jamahal Hill will be out.
When will Jamahal Hill return?
‘Sweet Dreams’ was devastated when he announced about his injury in a video posted on his YouTube channel. Meanwhile, ‘MMA Fighting’s Damon Martin appeared to post an update regarding the former light heavyweight champion’s injury status and the timeframe for his return. In a tweet, he said, “Quick update on this – Jamahal Hill expected to have surgery on his ruptured Achilles’ tendon next Monday.”

Moreover, the timeframe for Hill’s return is mixed. It could take from six months to a year due to the nature of the injury. It depends on how fast he can recuperate and get back to training. Martin added, “Recovery time on that kind of injury is mixed – anywhere between 6 months to one year – similar to an ACL injury.”

Jamahal Hill was slated to fight former champion Jiri Prochazka later this year. However, those plans will now take a backseat as he focuses on his recovery. Meanwhile, the light heavyweight title could be up for grabs, as currently, it is the only division without a champion.
