In a recent development of events, US District Judge Richard Boulware has denied preliminary approval in the ongoing UFC antitrust lawsuit . The settlement would have seen the UFC give away $335 million to the current and former athletes. However, the decision will now go forward with a status conference in August and most likely will be pushed to October.

Dana White isn’t quite impressed with the whole situation and shared his opinion on the matter. The 54-year-old sat down for a chat with Kevin Iole on his YouTube channel. While speaking to the host, he fired some questions at the presiding judge.

Boulware denied the settlement conditions late Tuesday and is expected to elaborate more on the reason on a new date. The lawsuit which was filed in the year 2014 will now be held at a tentative trial date much to the despair of the UFC CEO. The UFC seemed highly disappointed with the judgment and issued a statement on Wednesday expressing their grievance towards it.

“We obviously disagree with this ruling and believe it disregards the expertise of counsel from both sides, as well as that of an accomplished and expert mediator — all of whom have decades of experience in antitrust case law,” the promotion mentioned exactly this in their statement. But what does the UFC head feel about the whole thing?

While speaking to Iole the UFC CEO seemed pretty agitated and made some remarks on the judge. He said, “It’s getting to a point now where this feels personal.” The 54-year-old then made a shocking revelation that might surprise many out there. White revealed that he and Judge Boulware knew each other from high school days and said, “You know I went to high school with this( judge)? Me and Lorenzo went to high school with him. I don’t know what me and Lorenzo did to him in high school but this seems very, very personal.” 

White is confident that his legal team will handle the matter in the court. However, for the time being the UFC is on the back foot and will look to come out on top. The case has been going on for quite sometime now and many fighters have come out and spoken against the UFC. One such fighter was Mark Hunt who took on Dana White on social media.

The whole rivalry between Mark Hunt and the UFC began in the year 2016. Hunt took on Brock Lesnar at UFC 200 and lost the fight via unanimous decision. However, Lesnar later tested positive for a banned substance and the fight was declared a no contest. Hunt then went on to pursue legal proceedings claiming that the UFC misled him about Lesnar’s PED usage. However, he failed to win the case after failing to provide evidence and the judge labeled Hunt’s claim as fraud. The loss prompted Dana White to come up with a response and he said, “Listen, Mark Hunt has lost so many lawsuits against us, it’s insane. He’s a bit of a delusional guy.” 

However, the former fighter settled the score after the UFC agreed to a settlement in an anti-trust lawsuit filed by the fighters against them. Hunt took to Instagram to share a video for the UFC and Dana White. He said, “So, the truth is, there is nothing actually you can do about this Dana White and UFC, your stupid lawyers have dropped the ball so many times in the 9th circuit, you call me f**king dumb, but they’re DUMB.” The case has now taken a completely new turn and the fans will be waiting to get an update real soon.
