The UFC has booked pulsating contest between two of the biggest prospects of their roster in Maycee Barber and Miranda Maverick. The two youngsters of the women’s flyweight division will lock horns on July 24th as per reports. The fans might be in for a barn burner on this one.
‘The Future’ is currently on a skid. The former Dana White’s Contender Series alumni started off her UFC career with three consecutive T/KO finishes. However, she has dropped two decisions since. Roxanne Modafferi handed the 22-year-old her first loss as a professional at UFC 246. Alexa Grasso defeated her once again at UFC 258.

Miranda ‘Fear The’ Maverick has confirmed the news of the fight being booked on her Instagram. The former Invicta FC fighter has had a perfect start to her UFC career. A T/KO stoppage against Liana Jojua was followed by a decision win over Gillian Robertson at UFC 260. Now, the 23-year-old will have her toughest test to date against Barber.

The Roufusport trainee has lost the early momentum that she got behind her career in the UFC, and she will be keen to arrest her skid. Wins over veterans like Hannah Cifers, J.J. Aldrich, and Gillian Robertson is a measure of her insane talent, and she will want to add ‘Fear The’ to that list.
Can Maycee Barber reaffirm her status as the brightest prospect of the flyweight division?
Many criticized the 22-year-old for her recent slump. However, given their experience and evolved skill sets, Grasso and Modafferi are among the toughest fights in the division. The difference in experience would be quite huge, as Barber has only had 10 fights (8-2) as a professional.

There are tons of improvements and changes in tactics one can expect from Barber in the future. It is not new to see rising stars wane under the bright lights. However, with a prospect like Barber, that shouldn’t be the case as her work ethic and talent can make her a world-class UFC star in near future.
