Because of the flames that have destroyed Los Angeles, the NHL has postponed the ice hockey game between the Los Angeles Kings and the Calgary Flames. On Thursday night, the Los Angeles Lakers were supposed to face the Charlotte Hornets in an NBA matchup at the downtown Los Angeles arena. However, that too has now been postponed. So, will Dana White also see UFC 311 meeting such a fate?
Well, this is definitely a question that will plague the minds of fans. In fact, a user also took to social media to pose the question regarding the Los Angeles fire affecting the Islam Makhchev headlined UFC 311 event that takes place at the Intuit Dome in California. Well, it all depends on the UFC head honcho. But as of now, no update has come to light on that front.
While the Pepperdine women’s basketball team also joined the list by postponing its scheduled Thursday night game against the University of Portland, it is worth noting that all the above postponed and canceled events would have taken place in Los Angeles. However, flights getting canceled in and out of Los Angeles would definitely affect the first PPV of 2025.

Taking to his Instagram story, Dana White also offered any sort of help that the city and its fire department would need during this delicate situation. “Love this!!! Already called @govjoelombardo Much respect to all the first responders from Nevada and California. ANYTHING you need for Me or @ufc, we got you!”

So, it is possible that he may postpone the event out of solidarity as well. But what do the fans think will happen?
Fans show growing concern over Dana White’s UFC 311
As soon as people started questioning the fate of UFC 311 through social media posts, fans were quick to share their theories about it. Some of these comments shared the belief that the event could face cancellation for now. If the airport shuts down and the catastrophe grows even worse, Dana White might call it quits for now. “If flights into LAX get cancelled likely in jeopardy.” The people could witness the destruction from the live cameras of the arena, so holding a night of fun out there so soon seems like a bad idea. “Saw the live cam near the Intuit Dome, and you can already see the fire from that distance, and the air is covered with smog.”

However, some believed that Dana White might move the location of the event to a different city altogether. While keeping the fights alive, the UFC can find themselves in Las Vegas on the 18th of January. After all, it is the first event of 2025, and the UFC head honcho would want it to come to fruition. Taking to the comments, the fans wrote, “Honestly maybe, but I think Dana would announce it moved to Vegas more than likely. Dana will move to a new place,” and “I think it’s not big problem for uncle Dana; Vegas stays an option.”
Some fans were optimistic enough to believe that there would be no cancellation or change of venue. Hopefully the fire gets under control soon. One fan wrote that there would be no hindrance and the event would go as it was. Giving other fans some hope, they wrote, “Should be fine” and “Valid question tbh, but we should be good. I live in southern LA, and we’re okay.” But what do you think? Is UFC 311 in real jeopardy, according to you? Let us know in the comments.
