UFC 310 is going to see two titans clash with each other as on December 7, former interim champion Ciryl Gane will fight Alexander Volkov in a rematch. Since a past is involved between the two, fans might expect this fight to be epic. In the first fight, Gane dominated in the Octagon but a lot has transformed since then.

This encounter will definitely be a blast. Why? Because both of them love knocking out their opponents in the octagon. So let’s get down to business and see how the two heavyweight strikers compare to each other when it comes to records and statistics.

Comparing Ciryl Gane vs. Alexander Volkov’s weight, height, reach, and more

If we take a look at activity inside the Octagon, then  Alexander Volkov takes the cake because he won four consecutive fights recently. He has won four straight matches since losing to Tom Aspinall in early 2022, the most recent being against Sergei Pavlovich last June. On the other hand, the Frenchman fought last year in September and defeated Sergei Spivac in Paris to rebound from his loss against Jon Jones. Interestingly, now everything can change, and the rankings can alter with the results of UFC 310.

Before getting into all the numbers and records, let’s first see how the heavyweights stand against each other when it comes to physique. The 12-2 fighter is 6’4”. So, clearly ‘Bon Gamin’ is pretty tall and has an impressive fight record. At 250 lbs and 81 reach, he is a formidable opponent for any heavyweight. On the other hand  ‘Drago’ has an incredible record of 38 wins in his MMA career. On top of that the 36-year-old stands at a whooping height of 6’,7” so he is almost 3 inches taller than his opponent. With 80′ reach and 258  lbs weight Volkov is truly a force to be reckoned with.

Even though they might have a slight height difference, both of them have pretty impressive records in their MMA career. On top of that, they have already clashed before, so the duo somewhat knows what each of their fighting styles and tricks comprises.

‘Bon Gamin’ is slick with his movement and excellent at distance management. He also has an impressive fight IQ displayed with 6 knockouts and 3 submission wins in his MMA resume. With major wins against some of the most prominent in the division such as Sergei Pavlovich, and Tai Tuivasa, and a previous victory against Alexander Volkov, the Frenchman will prove to be a potent hurdle for Volkov to face.

As for Alexander Volkov, he has a lot of experience in his résumé with 38 wins out of his 48 fights. On top of that, he is also 3 inches taller than Gane. So clearly, he has more height and reach advantage. But it did not matter the last time as Gane defeated Volkov. So this time Volkov might want to bring a versatile gameplan and not just strike with a bigger and rangier opponent. Perhaps he should take the Jon Jones route and take the fight to the ground at the first chance.

Even though he is a heavyweight fighter, Gane is as agile as a lightweight or a middleweight. So this would help him tire out his opponent through the 25 minutes, just moving around the Octagon and landing stinging strikes. Gane had won via unanimous decision the first time they fought so he might use the same tactics of tiring Volkov out this time.
