Recent reports have only given us one picture about the UFC 306 PPV in Sphere – Dana White is having trouble in selling tickets. While he hasn’t touched upon that issue, in a recent interview, the UFC CEO claimed that he has hired some big-time production people for the Mexican Independence Day event. White went on to reveal there’s a 14-time Emmy winner involved in his Sphere project.
“We went after the A-team of talent to be involved in this and every one of them said, ‘You’re nuts and we’re in!’ You know what I mean? At this point, we have literally Oscar-nominated… One of the guys that’s working on the show has won 14 Emmys,” Dana White told ‘Grind City Media’. He’d also add that the partnership between his production team and the hired professionals has been nothing but successful and he’s promised a visually spectacular UFC 306: Riyadh Season Noche UFC.
“To have a challenge like this at this point in their career, they love it. The synergy between my team and all these that are these major people in Hollywood has been fantastic. So, it’s exciting. We’re excited for this,” Dana White added. It remains to be seen how things will pan out for the UFC given that they’re going to go head-to-head against Canelo Alvarez‘s PPV.

There are still plenty of tickets unsold on Ticketmaster’s website, but it seems like Dana White’s Sphere project could be a sight to behold because the 14-time Emmy award winner is none other than Glenn Weiss. For context, Weiss has directed major live events like the Academy Awards, Billboard Music Awards, and the Emmy Awards itself. Also, as White mentioned involving Emmy Awards-level production members for UFC 306, he could be working with the team he credited for one of his Power Slap events last year.

Dana White once rallied for his Power Slap team to win an Emmy. Could they be working for the Sphere PPV?
When Power Slap came around, people weren’t investing too much into it, but Dana White remained confident, claiming that it did impressive numbers on socials. As we entered the latter half of 2023, the UFC CEO would claim to have been impressed with the level of production that his second promotion’s staff had carried out. White would later claim that his team should have been awarded an Emmy for their work while laying the verbal smackdown on Showtime.

“This team that produces this show should win a motherf***ing Emmy, okay? I don’t give a f*** what anybody says, they should win an Emmy for this show… Watch some of these boxing events that are on, I mean, Showtime is f***ing horrible, those guys suck so bad, you f***ing guys could show up with your f***ing video cameras and do a better job,” Dana White stated during a press conference.
