UFC 30o made headlines with the historic 300K bonuses. What about the recently concluded UFC 301? Alexandre Pantoja successfully defended his belt against the no.10th-ranked Steve Erceg to maintain his dominance in the division. The ‘King of Rio,’ Jose Aldo is back in the win column with a dominant showing against Jonathan Martinez in the co-main after being away from the Octagon for two years. Dana White was hoping for a successful UFC Brazil, but the lack of prominent fighters may have hindered it a little bit. But did that affect bonuses?

The event had an attendance of 14, 514, but the Gate has not been disclosed. Nonetheless, many fighters put their best foot forward and delivered memorable performances; Brazil went 10-3 against the rest of the world in the promotion’s first PPV return to the country since UFC 283 last year. Now that the event has successfully concluded let’s take a look at the numbers involved.

Alexandre Pantoja has retained his flyweight title for the second time via a unanimous decision against Steve Erceg in Brazil. After clinching the title against Brandon Moreno back at UFC 290, Pantoja had already defended his belt at UFC 296, against Brandon Royval.

Alexandre Pantoja’s last fight against Royval fetched him a base salary of $182,000, while on the other hand, Erceg’s base salary was just $54,000 during his fight against Alessandro Costa at UFC 295. It was his second appearance in the promotion and it’s just plausible that he is getting a similar purse this time around as well.

According to various sources, it has been revealed that Pantoja might earn somewhere in the ballpark of $650,000-$700,000, considering that he is now a champion and has an advantage that he would be getting the PPV numbers as well. On the other hand, Erceg is about to earn around $100,000 and $250,000, since he is a title challenger headlining the Brazil event.

Jose Aldo has been one of the highest-paid fighters in the UFC. According to various reports, Jose Aldo is about to get $555,000 in his fight against Jonathan Martinez. His opponent’s last payday was around $100,000 and it is expected that “Dragon” will be earning substantial pay in his fight.

As for the others like the veteran Anthony Smith, the reported numbers range from $50,000 to $200,000. Needless to say, UFC 301 must have been rewarding in terms of the paychecks for the big names, and in terms of PPV spotlight for the others. What do you think? Let us know in the comments.
