The UFC 300 was under the scanner for a long time, as it was missing its main event. The UFC head honcho was waiting to announce the main event for quite some time to make the event interesting.

During this period, many UFC superstars showed their willingness to feature at the historic event. However, it was Jamahal Hill who finally got the nod ahead of the rest. In a recent video on X, ‘Sweet Dreams’ revealed the real reason for him getting the opportunity.

The 32-year-old said: ” I am shocked. I don’t know how. I am not gonna fake you all, not b…hit you all, I gotta a call Friday right. Friday saying, hey I need to talk to you. This is the situation alright. Situation was we want you and Alex to headline UFC 300 alright. They offered me a bag too, you know. We know you are recovering from this. We have this option, we have this option and we prefer to be you guys because we want it to be headlined by a title fight. So whatever other options they had weren’t title fights. They were just some big name fights that they I guess they were working with them. They had ready to go. So they did have other fights. This is the fight they ultimately decided to go with. ”

Hill’s opponent, Alex Pereira, is one of the most fearsome strikers in the division and is the new light heavyweight king. The Brazilian is a two-division champion and a man on a mission who has taken the division by storm. UFC 300 will witness him defend his light heavyweight title for the first time in his career. However, the 36-year-old wants to defend his title more than once this year.

Alex Pereira is willing to defend his title at UFC 301 again

‘Poatan’ won the light heavyweight title at UFC 295 after beating Jiri Prochazka via knockout in the second round. The Brazilian moved to the light heavyweight division after losing his middleweight title to Israel Adesanya at UFC 287. His move to the upper weight division was criticized by many, but Pereira proved everyone wrong with his performance.
