Jamahal Hill was last seen inside the Octagon at UFC 283 when he took on Glover Teixeira for the vacant light heavyweight title. ‘ Sweet Dreams’ dominated the fight and won the battle via decision, thus claiming the title. However, he had to vacate his title after he injured his Achilles Tendon and underwent surgery. The 32-year-old now has the opportunity to win back his belt when he takes on the Brazilian next. Before their much-awaited clash, Jon Anik and Kenny Florian sat for a chat to discuss the card.

Anik expressed his views on the main event and seemed excited about the clash. Nonetheless, Florian seemed a bit disappointed with the competitive bout as he felt Hill might not be 100 percent yet.

He said, “I think the card is awesome, all right. It’s a very, very solid card. I’m a little disappointed in the main event myself if I’m being honest. And I’m just a little surprised with Jamahal just because I didn’t think he was going to be healthy, and he may not be right. I think this is a huge opportunity for him. The problem is Alex Pereira has got to be licking his lips right now.”

He ended by stating, “Wait a second, so this guy’s coming off an Achilles injury, and my best strike is calf kicks. So in that regard, I don’t see this one going the distance even in regards to Jamahal Hill.”

While Florian feels the match might not go the distance, ruling Hill out of the equation can be an amateur call. Experts and fans have predicted the fight, and another Brazilian has also come up on his own. Let us find out what he has to say.

Glover Teixeira predicts a knockout win for Alex Pereira

Former UFC fighter and champion will be eagerly watching the fight at UFC 300 with eagle eyes as his prodigy takes on ‘ Sweet Dreams’. Hill was one reason that forced Teixeira to announce his retirement from professional fighting. When Hill secured his title after defeating Teixeira, current champion Pereira was in his corner and entered a post-fight clash with him. However, the pair will now have the opportunity to settle the scores once and for all at UFC 300. Teixeira recently made an appearance at the Combat Sports UK show and predicted the result of the fight.

The former champion said, “The game plan is to turn up and knock him out. This is it, easy.” He further added, “He’s a great fighter. Good on the ground, he’s athletic, he’s got great boxing, good power, and he’s a young guy in the game. He’s a good fighter… it’s just Alex’s striking is in a different dimension, and his wrestling and jiu-jitsu is getting so good in every fight. It’s too much for Jamahal.”

Alex Pereira is one of the most lethal strikers in the UFC and is currently on a two-fight-winning streak. Will he be able to defend his title at UFC 300? Let us know in the comments below.
