Recently, Dustin Poirier claimed to be in a “weird” spot in the UFC. However, there might be a chance that he could end up fighting a veteran and icon of the sport. Nate Diaz recently expressed his urge to fight at UFC 300, to which ‘The Diamond’ put forth a proposal to the Stockton native.

Nate Diaz has been away from the UFC for over a year now. He left the promotion to seek opportunities in other endeavors, which he did by competing in his first-ever professional boxing match against YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul. Dana White‘s promotion is inching closer to its 300th pay-per-view event. UFC 300 will take place on April 13th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. It is a significant event and as such, Nate Diaz is thinking about making his return at the triple-century event. He recently tweeted about it but has not yet been successful in picking an opponent. Diaz said, “UFC 300 would be tight but there’s nobody to fight.”

However, former interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier had an idea for Nate Diaz’s return. Given the uncertain state of his UFC career, ‘The Diamond’ wants to welcome back the Stockton native and made a proposal for a 5-round war. “5 rnds. Don’t be scared homie,” said Poirier. If Dana White makes this fight official, we might have another banger match on the card. Besides that, let us take a few other fights that have been confirmed for UFC 300 by the CEO himself.

Announced fights for UFC 300 so far

Amidst speculations regarding the card for UFC 300, Dana White recently announced three matchups for the PPV in April. Some of the fighters featured on that card will be former light heavyweight Jiri Prochazka, who will take on Aleksandar Rakić. Then we will have the former bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling making a jump to the featherweight division and fight Calvin Kattar.

Moreover, 27-year-old prospect Bo Nickal will also be making his return to the Octagon against Cody Brundage. Even though Dana White has made these announcements, he has yet to announce who will fight in the co-main and main event of UFC 300. Could Nate Diaz vs Dustin Poirier take one of those spots?
