Is Dana White in a lot of trouble now? UFC 300 becomes more and more illusive as the days go by. First, White promised a big reveal and weeks later he is still yet to come up with a response for the main event. The endless teasing might have just gotten to fans’ nerves and at points, even White looks a bit surprised.

Like recently when he told the Nelk Boys how things rapidly changed while coming up with the main event for the pay-per-view and how the drama was worthy of being made into a “documentary” right then and there. Now, after multiple stars denied being a part of the event, Dricus Du Plessis has just added to the list.

Dricus Du Plessis is not helping out Dana White

It would appear that many names are just slipping away from Dana White and his potential list. First, Jon Jones denied a fight because it was too soon to come back from his pectoral injury. Then, Khamzat Chimaev told the world that he won’t befighting during the holy month of Ramadan.

Now, it would appear that reigning middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis has also backed out of his earlier claims. After defeating Sean Strickland for the title, Du Plessis called out his former rival Israel Adesanya and told the press that “UFC 300 sounds amazing.”

He meant for his next fight. While he also noted that he’d rather not put a timeline on it just yet, for him, the next big pay-per-view was perfect. However, now, in a recent statement, ‘Stillknocks’ hinted at a rather different timeline altogether.

“I think UFC 300 is obviously going to be a milestone event. I think it’s going to be great. I would love to be part of that, but not if it’s going to mean that I’m not going to be fully recovered.” He told Jacaranda FM, a South African radio station. “UFC 300 is just a number. It’s not as massive as UFC Africa.” Now, fans are reacting to the lack of Du Plessis at UFC 300.

Fans sense White’s troubles

Clearly, Dana White is running out of great options. The main event has to be a title fight as it usually is. Meanwhile, multiple champions have decided to not fight at the main event and multiple others won’t be doing so simply because their main events headline other pay-per-view ahead of April. This includes bantamweight champ Sean O’Malley and featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski. Fans are now convinced Du Plessis won’t be showing up soon.

“Sounds like a guy not fighting at ufc 300”

This fan hinted at Conor McGregor’s return.

“Judging by this comment: Seems Du Plessis just said he ain’t on 300. That only leaves (Ireland flag emoji)”

Yet another fan calculated the possibilities.

“If all of these things these fighters are saying are true, the only real possibility for UFC 300 main event is Leon vs. Belal. It’s the sad truth”

Yet another fan wondered if Adesanya would show up at all.

“F*ck…. So I guess that means he and Izzy won’t be on 300 neither right”

Yet others were sure ‘Stillknocks’ is out of the PPV.

“Bro is not fighting at 300”

“Sounds like he’s ducking. UFC 300 is bigger than any PPV before/after it that doesn’t mark a decade of existence”

One fan was angry regarding his previous statement.

“Then why did he talk about fighting at 300 he should have just said “oh yea im too banged up to fight at 300″”

Clearly, fans have picked up what Du Plessis has thrown down. This means there are a very few options left for Dana White to capitalize on. Like one of the fans said, perhaps the return of ‘The Notorious‘ is all everyone’s been waiting for and should get at UFC 300. But will it even happen?
