Given that Saint Denis was once in the military special forces, he has an edge over him that most fighters don’t. Being a part of the new wave of French talent that is taking the UFC by storm, a lot of fighters and UFC commentator, Joe Rogan, seem to acknowledge that edge in him.
Rogan on Benoit Saint-Denis said, “The man is straight-up killer. I think this guy has all the potential in the world. He’s got a spectral quality and a real killer instinct.” Having seen his last 5 performances inside the UFC octagon, it’s absolutely terrifying to see what the French fighter can do. But he isn’t going against a normal lightweight at UFC 299.
Despite how deadly Benoit Saint Denis is, he hasn’t fought anyone at the level of Dustin Poirier. Poirier has beaten some of the biggest talents in the UFC, finishing most of them. But this doesn’t mean that “The Diamond” isn’t looking past his opponent for UFC 299.
