Headlined by the Bantamweight title showdown between Aljamain Sterling and Henry Cejudo, UFC 288 takes place on May 6 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The UFC makes its first stop in New Jersey after a stretch of almost 4 years. It’ll be the ninth visit to Newark as previously Colby Covington fought Robbie Lawler in the main event in August 2019. Besides, the promotion disclosed the broadcast team on Thursday and addressed the persistent question of whether color commentator Joe Rogan will helm the commentator’s duties or not.
Joe Rogan joins Jon Anik and Daniel Cormier for the UFC 288 broadcast team
Notably, the 55-year-old will call the fights sitting at the commentators’ desk at UFC 288. In addition, play-by-play commentator Jon Anik and former UFC champion Daniel Cormier will also join the famed podcaster, as the trio will assume commentating duties on PPV streaming from New Jersey. The trio has adorned multiple PPVs in the past and remains a fixed attraction at UFC PPV events.

The UFC officials confirmed the broadcast team to MMA Fighting. Also, Megan Olivi is tasked with the correspondent duties. She will cover the action unfolding in the background, including pre-fight interviews and collecting remarks in post-fight interviews.
Markedly, the stacked fight card can potentially change the dynamics of the Bantamweight as well as the Welterweight division.
Mouthwatering matches on the fight card
Henry Cejudo marks his comeback to Octagon after cutting short his retirement that lasted almost 3 years. He poses a challenge to the current Bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling. However, Cejudo, on multiple occasions, has reiterated his desire to move up the division.
The makeshift match of Gilbert Burns and Belal Muhammad was recently slotted in as the co-main event. Both the fighters took the fight on short notice after Charles Oliveira withdrew due to an injury against Beneil Dariush.
