It is finally time for ATT’s two hardened fighters to duke it inside the octagon and provide closure to this long-standing rivalry. Colby ‘Chaos’ Covington is arguably one of the best welterweights in the world, aside from the reigning champion, Kamaru Usman.
On the flip, Jorge Masvidal has only turned his career around in 2019 by adopting the persona of ‘Street Jesus’ and baptizing his competition inside the octagon. The two fighters used to be best buddies, and have shared countless hours with one another, both in the gym and outside of it.

Covington excels as a wrestler, whereas Masvidal likes to brawl and hates to take the fight to the canvas. The duo also had a different career in the promotion, which could have also played a key role in their fallout. Masvidal lost a number of important fights via decision but always remained a fan-favorite because of his brash personality and entertaining fighting style.
However, Covington wasn’t doing well with the fans, despite winning every single fight in UFC. Things got so bad for the mixed martial artist that the promotion was ready to cut him right after his clash with Demian Maia in Brazil.

The same opponent Masvidal failed to beat, but Covington walked through him easily. He even adopted the new persona of a villain, which, in terms of professional wrestling, is seen as a ‘Heel’ turn.
