‘The Answer’ started his MMA career way back in 2005 and was signed by the UFC in 2007. Edgar won his first three fights in the promotion before losing to Gray Maynard. He bounced back with a seven-fight undefeated streak, winning the lightweight title in the process. However, his form hasn’t been the best recently. As he is 1-3 in his last four fights, this can be a make-or-break fight for the legend.
Marlon Vera is also an MMA veteran. He made his UFC debut in 2014 and has fought 17 times in the promotion. Despite being in the UFC for years, ‘Chito’ became popular with the fans after his win against rising star Sean O’Malley in 2020. Since then, he is 1-1 in with his last fight coming in June.
UFC 268: Frankie Edgar vs. Marlon Vera
Frankie Edgar desperately needs to get a win against Vera. He has been struggling to find his best in the past few years and is 2-4 in his last six fights. However, ‘The Answer’ still is a dangerous striker and can make life very difficult for Vera.
The 40-year-old has a 40 percent striking accuracy and would like to get out of the gates fast to finish the fight. He still has the gas tank to go full speed for three rounds. However, with a much younger opponent in Vera, he wouldn’t want to test that.
‘Chito‘ will not be an easy opponent for Edgar, and many believe he has a genuine chance of getting the win. Edgar usually outworks his opponents, but with his current form, Vera would like to capitalize.

Vera can knock his opponents out and also take the fight to the ground. He strikes at 51 percent and would love to get a win over a former UFC champion.
Even though Edgar is still a big name in the game, Vera would like his chances against the veteran. A win for ‘Chito’ will be massive as he will break into the top 10 at 135 lbs.
