There was a little drama ahead of the weigh-in as ‘The Notorious’ kicked the American fighter during a face-off after the press conference. Hence, both the men proceeded separately to the weigh-in and registered 156lbs. Meanwhile, both the lightweights made use of the one-pound allowance for a non-title fight.
Earlier this was not the case when Poirier and McGregor clashed inside the octagon for a rematch at UFC 257. As the Irishman weighed in perfectly at 155lbs and Poirier slightly tipped the scale at 156lbs.
However, this time he weighed in 1lbs heavier than the rematch and is all set to repeat his victory over Poirier. As he has also hinted at how he will finish the American fighter.
